The Biointerfaces Interlaboratory Committees (BIONIC), an organization of graduate, postdoctoral and staff researchers from multiple BI research groups, focuses on enhancing interlaboratory connections.

The BIONIC team plans and executes major initiatives for scientific, outreach, career development and social engagement. The BIONIC events offer opportunities for the entire community to enable researchers to interact and enhance the flow of knowledge across disciplines, labs, and individuals. These increased interactions have already led to more discussions on interdisciplinary problems and created a strong sense of community within BI.

BIONIC is committed to engaging the entire BI community through scientific, professional development, outreach and social activities.  These activities provide opportunities for students, postdocs and researchers to get together to talk about their research and to interact with the broader community. Regular events include a career series, bioethics discussions on relevant science topic, informal research coffee hours, poster sessions and career discussions. We also have fun with happy hours and thematic celebrations such as May the Fourth parties.

We are always looking for new ideas! If you are interested in being involved in BIONIC or would like more information, please contact us at BIONICExecutiveTeam@umich.edu.
